Premiering on the museum’s YouTube channel August 12-16, Petersen Car Week Presented by Michelin will include vehicle debuts and talks from BMW, Ford, Gunther Werks and a first look at the new T.50 from Gordon Murray Design; garage tours from notable collectors and manufacturers; virtual car shows hosted by The Quail, Legends of the Autobahn, PCA, Exotics on Broadway and Concorso Italiano; live car auctions and market spotlights from Bring a Trailer, RM Sotheby’s and Bonhams; and vintage racing action from both Sonoma Speed Festival and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
LOS ANGELES (July 24, 2020) – The Petersen Automotive Museum announced today its complete schedule of events and list of judges for Petersen Car Week Presented by Michelin, which will take place from August 12-16, 2020. The week-long event will feature over 25 hours of original content.
Viewers can tune in daily to watch original content from manufacturers, enthusiasts, automotive lifestyle events, and auction houses. Videos will be broken apart into hour-long episodes that will premiere on the Petersen’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/petersenmuseum).
Schedule highlights:
Wednesday, August 12 – 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. PT Keeping with the Monterey Car Week tradition, Wednesday will be kicked off by McCall’s Motorworks Revival and include a live auction hosted by Bring a Trailer. Gunther Werks and BMW will be debuting vehicles, while Donut Media, The Torque Show, and Top Gear BBC will premiere never-before-seen video content.
Thursday, August 13 – 8 a.m.-1 p.m. PT Thursday will be marked by one of the most anticipated vehicles of 2020, the T.50 supercar by Gordon Murray Design, which will be discussed by Canepa Motorsports. The day will also be highlighted by the Future Collector Car Show hosted by Classiccars.com, multiple private garage tours, and an exclusive discussion around the Corvette C8 with Tadge Juechter.
Friday, August 14 – 8 a.m.-5:10 p.m. PT Friday will be highlighted by three virtual car shows hosted by Legends of the Autobahn, Porsche Owners Club of America and The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, which will be presenting the Spirit of The Quail award to an entrant vehicle that best represents the iconic Monterey lifestyle event. The day will also feature a walkaround of the new Koenigsegg Gemera and the 2021 BMW M8. Garage/factory tours will be given by RUF and HRE Wheels.
Saturday, August 15 – 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. PT Saturday will include two virtual shows—Concorso Italiano and Exotics on Broadway—and celebrate motorsports history with Sonoma Speed Festival and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Sonoma Speed Festival will debut POV track footage from its 2019 event. WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca will premiere “A Lap Through the Ages,” highlighting laps of the famed circuit from different eras of racing.
Sunday, August 16 – 6 a.m.-2:15 p.m. PT Sunday will feature the Petersen Concours d’Elegance, the museum’s take on a virtual Concours. Highlighting featured classes such as American Classic Open & Closed, European Classic Open & Closed, Post-war Preservation, Ferrari Grand Touring, Post-war Sports, Movies, and TV, Off-Road, Hot Rod and Shooting Brake, the Concours will be judged by a panel of notable enthusiasts and collectors. Ford will also unveil a new variant of the Ford GT, while Peter Mullin, Dennis Varni, David Lee, and Barris Kustoms will offer garage tours.

Several events including the Petersen Concours d’Elegance will be judged by a panel of notable judges, and winning vehicles will be announced after judged Concours segments have aired. Judges will include Aaron Weiss, Beau Boeckmann, Bill Warner, Bobby Rahal, Bruce Meyer, Catherine Sutton, Chip Ganassi, Craig Jackson, David Lillywhite, David Sydorick, Doug Demuro, Ed Welburn, Ellen Bireley, Franz von Holzhausen, Fred Simeone, Freddy Hernandez, Gordon McCall, Jay Ward, Jim Grundy, Leslie Kendall, Lyn St. James, McKeel Hagerty, Miles Collier, Carl Grant, Peter Gleeson, Peter Mullin, Phillip Sarofim, Ralph Gilles, Rebecca Nguyen, Rob Walton, Stewart Reed, Wade Kawasaki, and Wayne Carini.
