A closed sale with bidding online, phone and via commission bid
Buyers and Sellers premium reduced for this event
Headline lot, 1986 Peugeot 205 T16 E1 Group B rally car
Silverstone Auctions are very excited to announce their first live online auction will take place on Saturday 23rd May.
In response to COVID-19, the Silverstone Auctions team has adapted to the current working environment and Government guidance.
With all events being canceled along with their sales at The Donington Historic Festival and the Sale of Ferraris a new format has enabled The May Live Auction to go ahead.
The team will be offering additional content on each of the lots being offered, including video and other imagery to show the cars in more detail and aid buyers with their decision.
Also, for this event only, the premiums paid for both the Buyers and Sellers have been reduced to 10% plus vat and 4% plus vat respectively and buyers will be able to bid online via our bidding partners as well as on the phone or by submitting a commission bid.
Depending on Government guidance in the coming weeks, it may become possible to offer one to one viewing at a central location. Silverstone Auctions will continue to monitor the situation and will make a decision nearer to the auction.
The catalog is now open and the team is accepting consignments, with the first high profile lot being the 1986 Peugeot 205 T16 E1 Group B rally car. This is an extremely rare lot as it is the sister car to the actual factory owned T16. This car has proven pedigree and well-known history, making it a very exciting opportunity to purchase a Group B machine and one that very rarely comes to market.
Harry Whale, Silverstone Auctions Sales Manager commented: “It has been very challenging for everyone in the events business and we have worked hard to adapt.”
“Our May Live Auction is in response to the situation and being able to hold an auction for both our vendors and buyers keeping them safe at all times.”
“We have some fabulous lots already consigned and the Peugeot 205 T16 is a stunning offering and we look forward to giving it a new home.”
